Day 12 - I got a new attitude . . .
Ok . . . as the saying goes . . . "what a difference a day makes," or in this case a good night's sleep.
I cannot tell you how much better I feel after having gotten 8 full hours of uninterrupted sleep! My mind, body, spirit was just so low the past few days. And with just a little bit of rest, I am right as rain.
I also took the night off from working out and I went to bed early. I woke early, worked out twice and ate well for the day. And I feel great! Invincible even. I can't believe it.
I keep saying it as I learn it, it's not about getting it right, it's about giving your body what it needs when it needs it. When you notice and imbalance in anything thing ask yourself what it is you need. A quick acronym is HALT.
Are you Hungry?
Are you Angry?
Are you Lonely?
Are you Tired?
It' usually falls somewhere in there and if not you can add, how am I feeling right at this moment or what am I wanting in this moment and that will usually get to the root of it.
Life won't always be perfect. Sometimes you will need to work extra hard and you will not be able to get 8 hours of sleep, or a perfectly balanced meal, great sex, a hug, a good workout, a deep message, or mediation. That's ok. But as soon as you can, take the time or make the time to give your body what it needs so you don't remain out of balance for long periods of time. The journey back is much harder and longer than it needs to be when you stray that far off course.
Many times what you need is easy to give yourself. Getting to be early was a matter of choice for me. It didn't cost anything in fact it provided something rather than taxed something in my life.
Think about how many ways your life might be out of balance that with one simply little choice, you could change your whole attitude.
I woke up positive and filled with new resolve for my journey just by getting to be an hour or so earlier. What will you improve by making new choices in your life?
